It’s time you started prioritising yourself! It’s time you started making time for you! So, I’d love to invite you to join me for a beautiful 10 week ‘Sunday Self Care Challenge’. Each week will follow a theme, and have a self-care activity, a yoga pose to practice, an essential oil to diffuse and some journal prompts that all correlate and focus on our theme. This will be a chance for you to take those very first steps into setting up new routines that prioritise your own selfcare, mental health and wellbeing Mumma, so come and join me and let’s get started!
Want to get started with Week One? – Sunday Self Care Challenge Week One
Today’s focus is selfcare rituals.
We ARE going to make these selfcare practices a regular thing ladies! Say it with me! π
Essential oil:
So once again first things first, if you are following along with the essential oil side of things, then go grab your Bergamot oil ladies, get it in that diffuser and let it be the beautiful base of your activities today. We are using our Bergamot oil to help calm our emotions and create a lovely, uplifting atmosphere.
Activity:
Today’s main activity is to create a relaxing Sunday routine. Make this work to suit you and your families lifestyle, be realistic. What time of the day works best for you to fit in that time for yourself. Is it morning? Is it afternoon? So set your plan in motion for today and pick a selfcare activity that aligns with you, maybe it’ll be making up or using some beautiful bathsalts and taking a nice hot bath with some music on, maybe it’ll be taking a hot coffee or cup of tea outside and grounding yourself in nature, feeling the breeze and sun on your skin, maybe you’d like to pick a new book and set aside an hour to just lose yourself in another world or maybe you’d like to take 30 mins to get your sneakers on and get out for a walk or a hike 𧑠Make it happen Mumma, you need this!
Yoga Pose:
Our yoga pose today is Legs up the wall, do this after you’ve completed your chosen activity for the day. Legs up the wall is a beautiful and restorative pose, that’s great for relaxation and to encourage deep breathing, rejuvenation, and it also promotes circulation of the blood and lymph to the upper body and helps to calm the mind. Have a quick watch through the video and get yourself familiar with the details of the pose before you get started (or even check out my stories for a more detailed explaining of the pose) then come down to your mat and practice this pose for about 3 – 5 cycles of breath or for as long as feels comfortable for you. You may find you allow yourself to really let go and release into this pose so if you are feeling a sense of comfort and releasement then just stay with this pose and feeling for aslong as you need π§‘
Journal Prompts:
Now our final aspect of today’s pratice is our journal prompts. So once you are finished with your yoga pose of the day, come back to a comfortable seated position, grab yourself a diary or a notebook and this is what I want you to think about and write about today.
– Write about your ideal self care routine!
– Think about and look at what day and time you have a window in your schedule that you could 100% fit it in! This doesn’t have to remain as a Sunday thing. Allow it to suit you! Make a plan mumma and make this happen! π
– Write honestly about why you need this time for yourself and how it will benefit not only you, but your whole family, if you know your why behind this it’ll be easier to really put it into motion!
We cannot pour from an empty cup. But if we pour our cup first, we can pour so much more into our families from the overflow!
If you’ve joined along and completed week two with me today, then drop me a comment below and let me know, you could let us know how it’s made you feel or even just drop a 𧑠emoji. We are all here doing this together Mumma, so let’s really ride this journey out and support each other along the way 𧑠See you back here next Sunday for more!
