Sunday Self Care Challenge

Sunday Self Care Challenge – Week Five

It’s time you started prioritising yourself! It’s time you started making time for you! So, I’d love to invite you to join me for a beautiful 10 week ‘Sunday Self Care Challenge’. Each week will follow a theme, and have a self-care activity, a yoga pose to practice, an essential oil to diffuse and some journal prompts that all correlate and focus on our theme. This will be a chance for you to take those very first steps into setting up new routines that prioritise your own selfcare, mental health and wellbeing Mumma, so come and join me and let’s get started!

Want to get started with Week One? – Sunday Self Care Challenge Week One

Eeeepp! We are half way there Mumma! Congratulations to you for making this commitment to yourself and for getting this far 🥰 Lets keep going and supporting each other along the way 🧡

So today’s focus is digital detox and reading!

Essential oil:

First things first, if you are following along with the essential oil side of things, then go and grab your Sage oil! I thought Sage would be the absolute perfect oil for today! As we do our detox, our Sage oil can promote the cleansing of stale energy and create new feelings of grounding. So get it in that diffuser girlfriend and lets get some fresh energy in here to celebrate our half way mark 🧡

Activity:

So digital detox and reading! Omg this one might seem daunting right!? I know we are all so used to having our phones and social media handy at all times. But don’t panic I’ll let you choose your own time frames 🙊 why not really go for it though Mumma and switch off for the next 12-24 hours. Who knows it might be good for us 🙊😉 So let’s get ready, pick a book to read across the day instead, or if you’re not into books, maybe a magazine or maybe you want to take the time to study something youve been wanting to get to for a while, whatever works 🧡

Yoga Pose:

Next up our yoga pose for today is Savasana. The best pose! Our resting pose 🧡 The perfect pose for our half way mark to relax, refresh and rejuvenate. Let’s revitalise by resting, Mumma. Resting our bodies and resting our nervous systems. So after you’ve got started on some reading for the day, why not take a moment to come down to your mat for a rest, lets calm that mind.

Have a quick watch through the video and get yourself familiar with the details of the pose before you get started (or check my stories for a more detailed explaining of the pose) then come down to your mat to practice. Stay here for as long as possible. But I totally understand that sometimes being still and going inward like this can feel super uncomfortable at first, so if you are having trouble, why not set a timer for 5 minutes to start, then maybe reset it and make it 10. Pop some calming background music on, do whatever you need to help you get into this beautiful restful place.

Journal Prompts:

Now our final aspect of today’s practice is our journal prompts. So once you are finished with your yoga pose of the day, come back to a comfortable seated position, grab yourself a diary or a notebook and this is what I want you to think about and write about today.

– What are three things you are grateful for today?
– Write about your experience with your digital detox. How have you found switching off from the hustle and bustle? Was it hard? Or did you find it therapeutic?
– What are three things you’ve learnt about yourself throughout this process today?
– Write out a positive affirmation for the day that aligns with how you are feeling right now. Get on Google or pinterest for some inspiration if you need it. Now sit and focus on this affirmation, even repeat it to yourself a few times!

I hope you’ve enjoyed joining along and completing week five with me today, what was your favourite part of this week’s challenge? And as a Bookworm, tell me, what book did you read? How was it? I’m always keen for some new recommendations for my list 🙊📚😘

See you back here next Sunday for more!
