It’s time you started prioritising yourself! It’s time you started making time for you! So, I’d love to invite you to join me for a beautiful 10 week ‘Sunday Self Care Challenge’. Each week will follow a theme, and have a self-care activity, a yoga pose to practice, an essential oil to diffuse and some journal prompts that all correlate and focus on our theme. This will be a chance for you to take those very first steps into setting up new routines that prioritise your own selfcare, mental health and wellbeing Mumma, so come and join me and let’s get started!
Want to get started with Week One? – Sunday Self Care Challenge Week One
Today’s focus is Self Care for the Skin
Essential oil:
First things first, if you are following along with the essential oil side of things, then go and grab your Geranium oil, ladies! We are using Geranium today as it’s a beautiful oil for promoting skin health and balance, and of course, it smells amazing too! So chuck it in that Diffuser, Mumma 🧡
Activity:
So our focus today is Self Care for the Skin. Which means today’s activity is all about time for you Mumma, put that kettle on and get ready. Today we are going to take atleast an hour for ourselves to nourish our skin and make ourselves feel amazing and beautiful 👏 So maybe start off with an exfoliator, then sit down with your cuppa while you use a beautiful face mask. You could read a book while you wait for it to do it’s work and then once rinsed off, finish up with a moisturiser or even a lovely face serum. Here’s a recipe for a beautiful one using our Geranium essential oil.
In a 30ml dropper bottle add;
10x drops of Geranium essential oil
10x drops of Lavender essential oil
10x drops of Frankincense essential oil
Top up with jojoba or rosehip oil
And here’s an added option, if you like, this week, you might also choose to continue on with your writing down 3 things that you are grateful for every day of the week 🧡
Yoga Pose:
Next up our yoga pose for today is Adho Mukha Svanasana or our Downward Facing Dog, probably one of yoga’s best-known poses. Now this pose is beautiful for stretching through the upper body and finding length through the spine but it also has a mild inversion aspect to it as we are bringing our head lower than our hips, and allowing the blood to circulate to the upper body which can have a beautiful calming affect aswell.
So whenever you are ready, have a quick watch through the video and get yourself familiar with the details of the pose before you get started (or check my stories for a more detailed explaining of the pose) then come down to your mat to practice.
Journal Prompts:
Now our final aspect of today’s practice is our journal prompts. So once you are finished with your yoga pose of the day, come back to a comfortable seated position, grab yourself a diary or a notebook and this is what I want you to think about and write about today.
– What are three things you are grateful for today?
– Write about how you felt allowing time for yourself and your skin today.
– Do you usually have a skincare routine? If you dont, how can you start with small steps to slowly incorporate one into your routine and allow that time for a little selfcare each evening.
– Now write down three things that you love about yourself and why?
– Write out a positive affirmation for the day that aligns with how you are feeling right now. Get on Google or pinterest for some inspiration if you need it. Now sit and focus on this affirmation, even repeat it to yourself a few times!
I hope you’ve enjoyed joining along and completing week eight with me today, and that your skin is now feeling beautifully nourished and soft! Enjoy the rest of your day Mumma 🧡
And see you back here next Sunday for more!
