Each week will follow a theme, and have a self-care activity, a yoga pose to practice, an essential oil to diffuse and some journal prompts that all correlate and focus on our theme. This will be a chance for you to take those very first steps into setting up new routines that prioritise your own selfcare, mental health and wellbeing Mumma, so come and join me and let’s get started!
Want to get started with Week One? – Sunday Self Care Challenge Week One
Oh my goodness our very last day! If you’ve got this far Mumma, Give yourself a massive pat on the back! (But keep in mind, you can go back and start or restart this challenge whenever you like. Just find the numbered post on my feed with the daily information and check for my Self Care Challenge highlight for all of the more detailed yoga instructional videos)
So today’s focus is about Self Love and Affirmations 🧡
Essential oil:
So you know the deal! First things first, if you are following along with the essential oil side of things, then go and grab your Patchouli oil, ladies! We are using Patchouli today to clear feelings of anxiousness and any stored up anger and promote feelings of self love and relaxation! So chuck it in that Diffuser, Mumma and lets get to it 🧡
Activity:
So our focus today is all about you Mumma, and learning to love yourself. So our first part to today’s activity is to practice some self love by repeating positive affirmations to yourself. Now hopefully you’ve done a little bit of this along the way with your journalling. But if not. Here’s some ideas to get you going. Try to choose atleast 5 of the below affirmations, whatever one’s feel right and align with you right now. And then repeat them to yourself 3 times. Take your time with it. Don’t rush. Allow yourself to really feel the words with your whole heart and soul!
– I love and accept myself unconditionally
– I am confident and capable
– I am worthy of success and abundance
– I am strong and resilient
– I radiate confidence, self respect and inner harmony
– I love my body and all it does for me
– I am proud of who I am and everything I’ve been through
– I am grateful for my unique qualities and talents
– I am deserving of a healthy and fulfilling life
– I am enough and do not need validation from others
– I am in control of my thoughts and emotions
– I am creating a beautiful life
Now that you’ve finished your affirmations, treat yourself Mumma! You’ve got through 10 weeks of focusing on and allowing time for you! So pick your favourite self care activity and fit it into your day! It could be reading a book, soaking in a hot bath. Whatever your heart desires! You deserve it! 🧡
And here’s another added option, if you like you might choose to continue on with your writing down 3 things that you are grateful for everyday of the week, aswell as keep incorporating a little daily skincare routine into your evening each day 🧡 Lets make sure we that we don’t just drop the self care ball and actually continue to use all these bits and pieces that we’ve learnt throughout this challenge by adding them into our daily life!
Yoga Pose:
Next up our yoga pose for today is Pigeon Pose. One of my absolute favourite poses! We are practicing this pose today because it has a slight backbend aspect to it which helps us to open through the heart centre to promote positivity, self love and self acceptance. But it is also a beautiful hip opener pose, which helps us to work with our sacral chakra (our chakra that governs how we process emotions) to work through, release and move on from any built up emotions that are stored in our hips.
So whenever you are ready, have a quick watch through the video and get yourself familiar with the details of the pose before you get started (or check my stories for a more detailed explaining of the pose) then come down to your mat to practice.
Journal Prompts:
Now our final aspect of today’s practice is our journal prompts. So once you are finished with your yoga pose of the day, come back to a comfortable seated position, grab yourself a diary or a notebook and this is what I want you to think about and write about today.
– What are three things you are grateful for today?
– Write about your self care journey over the last 10 weeks.
– What practices stood out to you? And how did they make you feel?
– What have you learnt about yourself and how do you plan to move forward from this challenge in a way that still incorporates the practices and things that you’ve learnt into your life?
– Make yourself a selfcare schedule, be realistic about what times and day you can fit it in with your lifestyle.
I hope you’ve enjoyed joining along and completing this beautiful ten week self care challenge with me, Mumma, I absolutely applaud you for committing to making that time for yourself! 🧡 Thank you so much for being here and following along 🥰
